Regular Hearing Aids

100%​Of reasonable and customary charges for hearing aids prescribed by an ear, nose, and throat specialist, including repairs but excluding batteries. Maximum reimbursable expense of $500 for each covered person every 60 months. To be eligible:
  • any provincial plan must have paid its maximum for the service or product, and
  • the service or product must be prescribed by a physician and medically necessary.
You pay the remaining cost.

As the result of surgery or an accident

80%Of the initial purchase of hearing aids required as the direct result of surgery or an accident. Must be purchased within six months of the surgery or accident, or as soon as is reasonably possible, in Sun Life’s opinion. No maximum reimbursable expense. To be eligible:
  • any provincial plan must have paid its maximum for the service or product, and
  • the service or product must be prescribed by a physician and medically necessary.
You pay the remaining cost.
